Lesson Plan Activity Implementation Guidelines
Before heading off to the Palomar College Early Childhood Education Lab School (ECELS) to implement your activity, there are few things to consider.
Things to Know Before You Go:
- All students must wear their ID while at the ECELS.
- The ECELS front office will also give you a badge to wear indicating your classroom role.

- Students who have previously done this may have an orange dot on their Student Activity Card are covered.
- Previously signed forms may be brought for verification.
- All students must sign in and sign out at the front office of the ECELS when they enter and exit the site.
- The ECELS is a No Cell Phone Zone
- Please do not bring your cell phone into the ECELS or plan to keep it off and in your bag.
- Absolutely no photography, texting, phone calls, or social media usage is allowed while you are observing or implementing an activity at the ECELS.

Students Facilitating a Lesson Plan or Activity
- After contacting the teacher (see contact information below) and discussing the lesson plan, arrive at the agreed-upon time.
- You will need to bring in all necessary materials and supplies for the activity.
- The Lab School and teachers are not responsible for supplying the materials needed for your activity.
- Some materials may need to be purchased at the student’s expense.
- Cooking activities must consider allergies. Remember to review all ingredients with the Lead Teacher.
- The Lead Teacher may alter, adjust, modify, or limit the implementation of your lesson plan at any time for health and safety reasons.
- If you think the Lab School might have a material you need, i.e. paintbrushes, make sure you get prior approval from the teacher when you call and set up your date and time.
